'पार्थ! दूसरा कोई उत्तम अस्त्र छोड़ो। राधापुत्र कर्ण तुम्हारे बाणोंको नष्ट करता जा रहा है।” तब अर्जुनने अत्यन्त भयंकर ब्रह्मास्त्रको अभिमन्त्रित करके धनुषपर रखा ।।

Sañjaya narrates: “Pārtha! Release another excellent weapon. Rādhā’s son Karṇa is destroying your arrows.” Then Arjuna, having empowered the exceedingly dreadful Brahmāstra with incantations, set it upon his bow. After covering Karṇa with a dense shower of arrows, Arjuna pressed the attack; Karṇa answered with razor-sharp, lightning-swift shafts and cut Arjuna’s bowstring.
संजय उवाच
Even amid violent conflict, the Mahābhārata frames action within dharma: prowess must be joined to discipline, and victory pursued without abandoning the warrior’s code and responsibility.
Arjuna showers Karṇa with arrows to overwhelm him; Karṇa counters with sharp, fast arrows and severs Arjuna’s bowstring, demonstrating tactical superiority in that moment.
