उत्तम मणियों, हीरों और सुवर्णसे अलंकृत कर्णके मस्तकका आभूषण मुकुट और उसके दोनों उत्तम कुण्डल भी अर्जुनके बाणोंसे छिन्न-भिन्न होकर पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़े ।।
mahādhanaṁ śilpivaraiḥ prayatnataḥ kṛtaṁ yad asyottamavarma bhāsvaram | sudīrghakālena tato ’sya pāṇḍavaḥ kṣaṇena bāṇair bahudhā vyaśātayat ||
Sañjaya said: Karṇa’s crown—adorned with finest gems, diamonds, and gold—and his two excellent earrings were cut to pieces by Arjuna’s arrows and fell to the earth. That radiant armor of Karṇa too—immensely costly, wrought with painstaking care by master craftsmen over a long time—was in an instant shattered into many fragments by the Pāṇḍava Arjuna with his shafts.
