संजय उवाच तेषामनीकानि बृहद्ध्वजानि रणे समृद्धानि समागतानि । गर्जन्ति भेरीनिनदोन्मुखानि नादैर्यथा मेघगणास्तपान्ते
sañjaya uvāca teṣām anīkāni bṛhaddhvajāni raṇe samṛddhāni samāgatāni | garjanti bherī-ninadoन्मukhāni nādair yathā megha-gaṇās tapānte ||
Sañjaya said: Their battle-formations, rich in strength and marked by lofty banners, had assembled on the field of war. Stirred by the booming of war-drums, they roared aloud—like masses of clouds that begin to thunder at the close of the summer heat.
