कर्णवधप्रसङ्गः / The Context of Karṇa’s Fall
Krishna’s Dharmic Recollection and the Decisive Astra
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत कर्णपर्वमें युधिष्िरवाक्यविषयक छाछठवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraḥ śrīmahābhārate karṇaparvaṇi yudhiṣṭhiravākyaviṣayakaḥ ṣaṭṣaṣṭitamo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ
Thus ends the sixty-sixth chapter of the sacred Mahābhārata, in the Karṇa Parva, a chapter centered on the words spoken by Yudhiṣṭhira. This closing colophon marks the completion of that section, framing Yudhiṣṭhira’s speech as the ethical and narrative focus within the larger account of the war.
युधिषछ्िर उवाच
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it teaches by implication how the Mahābhārata is organized—chapters are framed by speakers and themes, and Yudhiṣṭhira’s words are highlighted as ethically significant within the war narrative.
The text is marking closure: it announces that the chapter focused on Yudhiṣṭhira’s speech has concluded within the Karṇa Parva.
