Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces

Sañjaya said: “Reveal yourself, by your own prowess, to that mighty archer Karṇa, the charioteer’s son. O bull among the Bhāratas, take up the finest speed and advance—O ornament of Bharata’s line—launch your assault upon the enemy host. Karṇa, swollen with wrath, is charging against the Pāñcālas; I can see his banner near Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s chariot.”

The passage highlights the kṣatriya ethic of direct confrontation and decisive action in battle: one should rely on personal valor and clarity of purpose, yet remain aware that anger (krodha) drives rash aggression and shapes the moral texture of warfare.
Sañjaya reports battlefield movements and urges a Bhārata warrior to advance swiftly and engage Karṇa. He notes that Karṇa, enraged, is charging the Pāñcāla forces, and that Karṇa’s banner is visible near Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s chariot—signaling proximity and imminent clash.
