Sañjaya said: Having crushed them, Karṇa once again rushed straight at Yudhiṣṭhira—like a dreadfully violent disease that has passed beyond the reach of mantras and medicines.

The verse uses a medical simile to show how certain crises feel beyond remedy: relentless violence can appear ‘incurable’ by ordinary means. Ethically, it highlights the testing of dharma under extreme pressure—steadfastness and discernment are demanded when adversity seems unstoppable.
After overpowering the warriors opposing him, Karṇa renews his assault and charges again at Yudhiṣṭhira. Sañjaya compares Karṇa’s onslaught to a terrifying disease that cannot be cured by mantras or medicines.
