Sañjaya said: Urged on again by Sātyaki, the foot-soldiers from the Drāviḍa and Niṣāda regions rushed at Karṇa on the battlefield, intent on killing him.

The verse highlights the ethical tension of war: leaders’ commands and strategic intent translate into collective violence by rank-and-file soldiers. It points to how duty, allegiance, and command structure can intensify conflict, directing many toward the single aim of killing an enemy champion.
Sañjaya reports that, at Sātyaki’s urging, contingents of Drāviḍa and Niṣāda infantry charge again at Karṇa in the battle, seeking to slay him.
