बलवन्तो महात्मान: कौन्तेया: सत्यविक्रमा: । बल॑ शेषं न हन्यूमें यथा तत् कुरु पार्थिव,'भूपाल! बलवान, महामनस्वी और सत्यपराक्रमी कुन्तीकुमार मेरी शेष सेनाको जिस तरह भी नष्ट न कर सकें, ऐसा उपाय कीजिये
sañjaya uvāca | balavanto mahātmānaḥ kaunteyāḥ satyavikramāḥ | balaśeṣaṃ na hanyūme yathā tat kuru pārthiva |
Sañjaya said: “The sons of Kuntī are mighty, great-souled, and true in their valor. O king, devise such a measure that they may not be able to destroy what remains of my forces.”
संजय उवाच
Even amid war, clear-eyed recognition of an opponent’s genuine strength (satyavikrama) is essential; prudent leadership must respond with strategy to protect what remains, rather than with denial or rashness.
Sañjaya reports a warning and counsel to the king: the Pāṇḍavas are formidable, so the ruler must take measures to prevent them from annihilating the remaining forces.
