अश्वत्थाम्न: शरानस्तान्‌ छित्त्वैकैकं त्रिधा त्रिधा । व्यधमद्‌ भरतश्रेष्ठो निहारमिव मारुत:

Transliteration

aśvatthāmnaḥ śarān astān chittvaikaikaṃ tridhā tridhā | vyadhamad bharataśreṣṭho nihāram iva mārutaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Having cut each of Aśvatthāmā’s discharged arrows into three pieces—again and again—the best of the Bharatas, Arjuna, shattered them all, just as the wind drives away and disperses a bank of mist.
