संशप्तकाश्न मे वध्या द्रौणिराह्मययते च माम्

Sañjaya said: Arjuna spoke, “Mādhava, on one side I must strike down the Saṃsaptakas, and on the other Droṇa’s son, Aśvatthāmā, is challenging me to battle. Therefore tell me what duty should be taken up first here. If you judge it right, let me rise and first accept Aśvatthāmā’s ‘hospitality’—that is, meet his challenge before all else.”
