Sañjaya said: When Śvetavāhana (Arjuna) entered the battle-formation, Hārdikya (Kṛtavarmā), wrathful at heart, shook his bow already fitted with arrows and closed in to engage the two Pāñcāla warriors.

The verse underscores how anger (amarṣa/krodha) can rapidly drive action in war; it implicitly warns that even in a kṣatriya context, inner restraint and adherence to dharma are continually tested when pride and frustration arise.
After Arjuna (Śvetavāhana) penetrates the enemy formation, Kṛtavarmā (Hārdikya) becomes furious, brandishes his bow with arrows ready, and moves to engage the two Pāñcāla fighters (understood in context as Yudhāmanyu and Uttamaujā).
