Sātyaki Pressed by Kauravas; Duryodhana and Kṛtavarmā Engagements
इति श्रीमहाभारते द्रोणपर्वणि जयद्रथवधपर्वणि दुःशासनसैन्यपराभवे नवतितमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate droṇaparvaṇi jayadrathavadhaparvaṇi duḥśāsanasainyaparābhave navatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Sañjaya said: Thus, in the sacred Mahābhārata, within the Droṇa Parva, in the section concerning the slaying of Jayadratha, concludes the ninetieth chapter, describing the defeat of Duḥśāsana’s forces.

As a chapter-colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction but through framing: it marks a narrative unit where unjust aggression and prideful violence culminate in defeat, reinforcing the epic’s ethical pattern that adharma in war leads to downfall and loss of honor.
This is the formal closing line for the chapter: it states that the ninetieth chapter has ended, situated in the Droṇa Parva and within the Jayadratha-slaying section, and that the chapter’s theme concerns the defeat of Duḥśāsana’s troops.
