Sañjaya said: Seeing auspicious omens appearing on his right—signs foretelling victory—Arjuna addressed the great bowman Yuyudhāna (Sātyaki) with these words.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the traditional belief that auspicious signs—especially those appearing on the right—strengthen confidence and resolve. Ethically, it shows how warriors seek reassurance (nimitta) to steady the mind, yet must still act with courage and duty in battle.
Sañjaya narrates that Arjuna notices victory-indicating omens on his right side and then turns to address Sātyaki (Yuyudhāna), a renowned archer, preparing to speak further in the unfolding battle scene.
