Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical-religious idea that genuine spiritual presence and righteous intent evoke divine favor: Śiva’s serene joy upon seeing Nara and Nārāyaṇa signals approval, hospitality, and the auspiciousness that accompanies dharmic beings.

Sañjaya narrates that Nara and Nārāyaṇa arrive at the place where Śiva is present; seeing them, Śiva becomes deeply pleased and begins to speak with a gentle, smiling demeanor, setting the stage for the ensuing dialogue or boon.
