Educational Q&A

Even in a dharmic struggle, war inevitably inflicts intimate human suffering; the verse highlights the ethical cost of violence through a parent’s longing to see a child unharmed.

Sañjaya reports a lament addressed to a son, describing his attractive features and asking when his uninjured face will be seen again—an expression of fear and sorrow amid the ongoing battle in the Droṇa Parva.
