Protection of Droṇa’s formation and parallel duels
sṛñjaya uvāca | etenaiva pratīto 'haṃ prasanno yad bhavān mama | prasanno yasya bhagavān na tasyāstīha durlabham ||
Sṛñjaya said: “By this alone I am assured and fully content—that you are pleased with me. For the one upon whom the venerable lordly sage is pleased, nothing in this world remains hard to obtain.”
The verse emphasizes the power of a revered person’s (especially a sage’s) favor: when one has earned such grace through right conduct and humility, worldly and spiritual attainments cease to be ‘difficult.’
Sṛñjaya responds respectfully to a venerable figure, expressing that the other’s satisfaction itself is his reward, and asserting that the blessed favor of such a ‘bhagavān’ makes all aims attainable.
