द्रोणेन दुर्योधनस्य कवचबन्धनम् — Drona’s Mantra-Bound Armor for Duryodhana
वसुधोवाच दुहितृत्वेन मां वीर संकल्पयितुमर्हसि । तथेत्युक्त्वा पृथु: सर्व विधानमकरोद् वशी,वसुधा बोली--वीर! तुम मुझे अपनी पुत्री मान लो, तब जितेन्द्रिय राजा पृथुने “तथास्तु' कहकर वहाँ सारी आवश्यक व्यवस्था की
vasudhovāca duhitṛtvena māṃ vīra saṅkalpayitum arhasi | tathety uktvā pṛthuḥ sarva-vidhānam akarod vaśī ||
Vasudhā said, “O hero, you should accept and acknowledge me as your daughter.” King Pṛthu—self-controlled and master of himself—replied, “So be it,” and then arranged all the necessary rites and preparations.
नारद उवाच
Dharma is upheld when relationships and responsibilities are accepted through deliberate resolve (saṅkalpa) and then enacted through proper, orderly conduct (vidhāna). Self-mastery (vaśitva) supports righteous action.
Vasudhā (the Earth) asks the hero/king Pṛthu to accept her as his daughter. Pṛthu agrees (“tathāstu”) and proceeds to make all the required arrangements according to proper procedure.
