Nārada said: “With purified intent, the king performed sacrifices unceasingly for a full hundred years. In their proper seasons he duly observed many rites—such as the new-moon and full-moon offerings, the first-fruits sacrifice, and the four-monthly ceremonies—and in all of them he bestowed abundant priestly gifts (dakṣiṇā).”
