trāsayiṣyati bāṇānāṃ kurūn anyāṃś ca pārthivān |
Sañjaya said: “The Kurus—and the other kings as well—will be seized by fear at the arrows that are about to be released.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights that in dharmic warfare, victory depends not only on weapons but also on courage and steadiness of mind; when fear spreads, dharma-based resolve collapses, and the battlefield turns on morale as much as on force.
Sañjaya, narrating the battle to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, foretells that the impending volley of arrows will frighten the Kuru forces and other allied kings—signaling a surge of dominance by the archer whose missiles are being described.
