Droṇa’s Fall: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Inquiry
कर्बुरा: शितिपादास्तु स्वर्णजालपरिच्छदा: । जारासंधधि हया: श्रेष्ठा: सहदेवमुदावहन्,जरासंधके पुत्र सहदेवको काले पैरोंवाले चितकबरे श्रेष्ठ घोड़े, जो सोनेकी जालीसे विभूषित थे, रणभूमिमें ले गये
sañjaya uvāca |
karburāḥ śitipādās tu svarṇajālaparicchadāḥ |
jarāsandhadhihayāḥ śreṣṭhāḥ sahadevam udāvahan ||
Sañjaya said: The finest horses of Jarāsandha’s lineage—dappled in color, with pale feet, and adorned with golden netting—bore Sahadeva, son of Jarāsandha, forth into the field.
संजय उवाच
Even amid the splendor and resources of kingship, the warrior’s focus is dharma: being carried into battle symbolizes readiness to perform one’s appointed duty without being distracted by outward grandeur.
Sañjaya describes Sahadeva being conveyed into the battlefield by excellent, dappled, white-footed horses associated with Jarāsandha’s line, richly adorned with golden net-like trappings.
