Droṇa’s Fall: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Inquiry

ललामैहरिभिर्युक्त: सर्वशब्दक्षमैर्युधि । राज्ञां मध्ये महेष्वास: शान्तभीरभ्यवर्तत,वे “ललाम'* और “हरि संज्ञावाले घोड़ोंसे, जो सब प्रकारके शब्दोंको सुनकर उन्हें सहन करनेमें समर्थ थे, सुशोभित हो रहे थे। उस युद्धस्थलमें समस्त राजाओंके मध्यभागमें महाधनुर्थर राजा ट्रुपद निर्भय होकर द्रोणाचार्यका सामना करनेके लिये आये

Transliteration

lalāmair haribhir yuktaḥ sarvaśabdakṣamair yudhi | rājñāṁ madhye maheṣvāsaḥ śāntabhīr abhyavartata ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Adorned with banners and yoked to tawny horses—trained to endure every kind of battlefield noise—the great archer advanced in the midst of the kings. Calm and fearless, he moved forward to confront Droṇācārya.
