Vyāsa said: “O son of Kuntī, take refuge in the Lord of the worlds, the gracious giver of boons.”
व्यास उवाच
The verse teaches śaraṇāgati—turning to the supreme Lord as one’s refuge. Ethically, it implies that in situations where human judgment is strained by fear, grief, or conflict, one should seek alignment with the highest dharma through divine guidance and grace.
Vyāsa addresses a ‘Kaunteya’ during the turmoil of the war narrative, urging him to abandon self-reliance alone and approach the Lord of the worlds, described as the boon-giver. The line functions as a pivotal counsel: spiritual recourse is presented as the stabilizing response amid battlefield uncertainty.
