Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the warrior ethic of direct responsibility: after declaring his intent, a kṣatriya acts decisively. It also underscores how dharma in war can become a clash of competing duties, expressed through personal courage and relentless effort.

Sañjaya describes Dhr̥ṣṭadyumna, Drupada’s son, advancing on Droṇa. He showers Droṇa with arrows and then personally charges him, signaling an intense face-to-face engagement amid the larger battle.
