न्यायवृत्तों वधो यस्तु संग्रामे युध्यतो भवेत्‌

Transliteration

nyāyavṛttānāṁ vadho yas tu saṅgrāme yudhyato bhavet

Translation

Sañjaya said: If, in the press of battle, those who live by justice are slain while they fight, that death is to be regarded as born of the conditions of war, not of private malice.
