तेषां तु च्छाद्यमानानां पञ्चालानां समन्ततः । अभवद् भैरवो नादो वध्यतां शरवृष्टिभि:
teṣāṃ tu chādyamānānāṃ pañcālānāṃ samantataḥ | abhavad bhairavo nādo vadhyatāṃ śaravṛṣṭibhiḥ ||
Sañjaya said: As the Pāñcālas were being covered on all sides, a dreadful roar arose—while they were being struck down beneath a rain of arrows.
