Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the uncompromising nature of kṣatriya duty in war: warriors, once committed to their side, must confront even a revered and formidable figure like Droṇa. It points to the ethical tension between personal reverence and the obligations imposed by allegiance and battlefield dharma.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pāñcālas and Sṛñjayas, as elite chariot-warriors, advance directly toward Droṇa and engage him in combat, indicating a focused assault on the Kaurava commander.
