न्यवारयत तेजस्वी नकुलश्षित्रमार्गवित्‌ । तेजस्वी नकुल युद्धकी विचित्र प्रणालियोंके ज्ञाता थे। उन्होंने यह देखकर कि धृतराष्ट्रपुत्र दुर्योधन मुझे दाहिने लानेकी चेष्टा कर रहा है, उसे सहसा रोक दिया

nyavārayat tejasvī nakulaḥ kṣitramārgavit |

Sañjaya said: The radiant Nakula, skilled in discerning the courses and stratagems of battle, abruptly checked him. Seeing that Duryodhana, the son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, was trying to draw him toward the right flank, Nakula restrained him at once—an act of alertness and disciplined conduct amid the chaos of war.
