पज्चालानां च संसक्त न प्राज्ञायत किंचन । अन्तकाक्रीडसदृशं भीरूणां भयवर्धनम्,कौरवों तथा पांचालोंके सारे विशाल सैन्य परस्पर मिलकर व्यग्र हो उठे थे। उस समय उनमेंसे किसी दलको अलग-अलग पहचाना नहीं जाता था। वह समरांगण यमराजका क्रीडास्थल-सा हो रहा था और कायरोंका भय बढ़ा रहा था
Transliteration
sañjaya uvāca | pāñcālānāṃ ca saṃsakte na prājñāyata kiṃcana | antakakrīḍasadṛśaṃ bhīrūṇāṃ bhayavardhanam ||
Translation
Sañjaya said: When the Pāñcālas and the others became locked together in close combat, nothing could be clearly distinguished—no separate formations or sides were recognizable. The battlefield looked like a playground of Death itself, and it only increased the terror of the faint-hearted.
