Educational Q&A

Bhīma urges Arjuna to stand firm in kṣatriya-dharma: when the decisive moment arrives, a warrior must act with resolve, fulfilling the purpose for which he was born—protecting honor and upholding duty in battle.

In the midst of the Drona Parva’s intense fighting, Bhīma addresses Arjuna directly, calling him by name and epithet to rouse him. He declares that the critical time has come for Arjuna to perform the warrior’s decisive task for which a Kshatriya mother bears a son.
