एष वैश्वानर इव समिद्ध: स्वेन तेजसा
eṣa vaiśvānara iva samiddhaḥ svena tejasā
Bhīmasena said: “He stands blazing like Vaiśvānara (the sacred fire), kindled by his own innate radiance.”
भीमसेन उवाच
The verse highlights tejas—inner radiance and power—as self-generated and self-sustaining. Ethically, it suggests that true strength arises from one’s own character and energy, yet in war such fire-like power must be governed by dharma so it does not become indiscriminate destruction.
