कः क्षत्रियो मन््यमान: प्रेक्षेत्रारिमवस्थितम् । भीमसेन बोले--ट्रुपदके कुलमें जन्म लेकर और सम्पूर्ण अस्त्रोंका सबसे बड़ा विद्वान् होकर भी कौन स्वाभिमानी क्षत्रिय शत्रुको सामने खड़ा हुआ देख सकेगा?
kaḥ kṣatriyo manyamānaḥ prekṣetārim avasthitam |
Bhīmasena said: “What self-respecting kṣatriya could bear to look upon an enemy standing before him?”
भीमसेन उवाच
The verse asserts the kṣatriya ideal of steadfastness: a warrior who values honor should not shrink from an enemy who is openly present; courage and readiness to act are treated as ethical obligations within the battlefield dharma.
In the Drona Parva’s intense fighting, Bhīma speaks in a rousing, challenging tone, pressing his side toward direct engagement and condemning any impulse to hesitate when the foe is right before them.
