Educational Q&A

Even in the urgency of war, actions carry ethical weight: the command to oppose Droṇa highlights the painful necessity of confronting a venerable teacher when he becomes an agent of adharma or destructive force, and the responsibility of leaders to act decisively amid moral complexity.

Sañjaya reports that, as Bhīma is successfully holding back the Kaurava forces, a commander issues an instruction to Dhṛṣṭadyumna to stop Droṇa (called Kumbhayoni) from advancing, indicating a tactical response to a critical battlefield development.
