Sañjaya said: “Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Droṇa Parva—specifically in the section on the slaying of Ghaṭotkaca—during the night-battle, the one-hundred-and-eighty-second chapter, dealing with the words of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, is concluded.”
संजय उवाच
As a colophon, the verse does not deliver a new doctrinal teaching; it signals that the chapter’s focus is Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s counsel given during the night-battle. The ethical emphasis is implicit: even amid chaotic warfare, Kṛṣṇa’s speech is treated as guiding judgment about duty, strategy, and restraint.
Sañjaya marks the conclusion of the 182nd chapter within the Droṇa Parva, situated in the Ghaṭotkaca-slaying episode and set during the night fighting. It functions as an editorial/narrative closure indicating the chapter’s subject matter (Kṛṣṇa’s words) and its placement in the larger war narrative.
