ataḥ praharṣaḥ sumahān yuyudhānādya me ’bhavat | mṛtaṃ pratyāgatam iva dṛṣṭvā pārtha dhanaṃjayam ||

Therefore, O Yuyudhāna, a very great joy arose in me today. Seeing Pārtha Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) was like seeing one who had died return again—such was the relief and gladness I felt.

Educational Q&A

Even in the chaos of battle, the survival and reappearance of a dharmic champion renews courage and moral confidence; gratitude and joy arise when righteousness is preserved against seemingly fatal odds.

Vāyudeva addresses Yuyudhāna (Sātyaki), saying that seeing Arjuna alive brought him immense joy—like witnessing someone thought dead return—implying Arjuna had been in grave danger or believed lost.
