Vāyu said: “He is a mighty-armed hero, ever eager for battle, his bow always strung and ready. Roaring in the forest like a lion, he strikes terror among the leaders of the enemy host like a rutting elephant scattering the chiefs of a herd.”
श्रीवायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of constant readiness and courage in righteous combat, portraying how disciplined preparedness and fearless resolve can steady one’s side and unsettle opposing leaders—an ethical reminder that power in war is tied to responsibility and steadfastness.
Vāyu describes a formidable warrior’s battlefield presence: always prepared with bow at the ready, he advances with a roar likened to a lion in the forest and overwhelms enemy commanders like a powerful elephant scattering the leaders of a herd.
