Sañjaya said: “In the sky, showers of arrows—forming dense nets—fell in such a way that they could not be perceived. By means of illusion and swift, deceptive maneuvering, he was pressing Karṇa in battle; unseen volleys rained down upon Karṇa from above.”

The passage highlights how warfare can involve concealment and illusion, raising ethical tension between straightforward valor and victory gained through deceptive means; it also underscores the fragility of even great heroes when confronted with unseen forces.
Sañjaya describes a battle moment where Karṇa is being overwhelmed: dense volleys of arrows descend from the sky in a way that is not visible or easily detected, suggesting a tactical or illusory advantage used against him.
