Sañjaya said: Alambuṣa, in the fury of battle, struck and hurled the rākṣasa Ghaṭotkaca, then lifted him up and violently crushed and ground him down upon the earth. The scene shows how wrath in war drives combatants toward extreme, dehumanizing force, where victory is pursued through sheer physical domination rather than restraint.

The verse highlights how anger (roṣa) in warfare can escalate action into brutal excess; it implicitly contrasts unrestrained wrath with the ideal of self-control and measured conduct even amid conflict.
During the battle, Alambuṣa attacks Ghaṭotkaca, hurls and lifts him, and then crushes/grinds him against the ground, as Sañjaya reports the ferocity of their combat.
