tava hṛd-vātra-balaṁ bhīma māyāś ca tava dustarāḥ | saṅgrāme yudhyamānasya satataṁ bhīma-nandana bhīma-nandana |
Vāyu said: “O Bhīma, your inner strength and driving force ever increase; and your powers of stratagem and illusion become hard to overcome. As you fight on the battlefield, O son of Bhīma—again I say, O Bhīma’s son—your terrible might continually grows.”
श्रीवायुदेव उवाच
The verse praises steadfast courage: when one stands firm in righteous combat, inner power and effective means (māyā as strategy/skill) intensify. It frames martial excellence as something that grows through unwavering engagement rather than hesitation.
Vāyudeva addresses Bhīma directly, affirming that in the midst of fighting his fearsome strength keeps increasing and his battle-skills become difficult for enemies to counter—an encouragement and recognition of Bhīma’s escalating prowess on the battlefield.
