akṣṇo nimiṣa-mātreṇa so 'nyad ādāya kārmukam | vivyādha pāṇḍavaṁ ṣaṣṭyā sūtaṁ ca navabhiḥ śaraiḥ |
Sañjaya said: In the mere time of a single blink, he seized another bow and swiftly pierced the Pāṇḍava (Yudhiṣṭhira) with sixty arrows, and his charioteer with nine.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how, in war, speed and skill can dominate events in an instant, yet the act of wounding a king and his charioteer also points to the ethical gravity of battlefield choices under kṣatriya-dharma.
Sañjaya reports that the warrior immediately takes up another bow and shoots Yudhiṣṭhira with sixty arrows and also strikes Yudhiṣṭhira’s charioteer with nine arrows.
