The verse highlights how war amplifies collective passion—shouts of “Kill him!” and the overwhelming ‘rain of arrows’ show how easily restraint and discernment can be submerged by group aggression, raising implicit questions about proportionality and dharma in combat.
Sañjaya reports that Kṣatriya fighters surge forward against a particular opponent and, as elite chariot-warriors, blanket him with an intense barrage of arrows, attempting to neutralize him through sheer concentrated missile-force.
