घटोत्कच-कर्णयुद्धम्
Ghaṭotkaca–Karna Combat and the Release of Śakti
इति श्रीमहाभारते द्रोणपर्वणि जयद्रथवधपर्वणि पुनर्युद्धारम्भे द्विपज्चाशदधिकशततमो<्ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate droṇaparvaṇi jayadrathavadhaparvaṇi punaryuddhārambhe dvipañcāśad-adhika-śatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Droṇa Parva—specifically in the section on the slaying of Jayadratha—the battle is taken up anew; this is the one hundred and fifty-second chapter.
संजय उवाच
As a colophon, the verse teaches indirectly through structure: epic events are framed by duty and consequence. The renewed outbreak of battle after Jayadratha’s death highlights how vows and perceived justice intensify warfare, reminding readers that actions in war generate further obligations and reprisals within the dharma-driven narrative.
This is a formal closing/heading marker indicating placement: in the Droṇa Parva, within the Jayadratha-slaying section, the narrative turns to the renewed beginning of fighting, and it identifies the chapter count as the 152nd.
