एवमुक्तस्तत: कृष्ण: शनकैर्वाहयन् हयान् । दर्शयामास पार्थाय क्रूरमायोधनं महत्,अर्जुनके ऐसा कहनेपर भगवान् श्रीकृष्णने धीरे-धीरे घोड़ोंको बढ़ाते हुए उस विशाल एवं क्रूरतापूर्ण संग्रामका दृश्य अर्जुनको दिखाना आरम्भ किया
evam uktas tataḥ kṛṣṇaḥ śanakaiḥ vāhayan hayān | darśayāmāsa pārthāya krūram āyodhanaṃ mahat ||
Sañjaya said: Thus addressed, Kṛṣṇa slowly urged on the horses and began to show Pārtha the vast battlefield—terrible in its cruelty—unfolding before them.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights ethical clarity in conflict: Kṛṣṇa does not conceal the cruelty of war from Arjuna but guides him to confront its reality. Dharma-driven action is portrayed as requiring lucid awareness of consequences, not denial.
After being spoken to (by Arjuna in the preceding context), Kṛṣṇa gently advances the chariot by urging the horses and begins showing Arjuna the immense and fearsome battlefield scene.
