अस्त्रैरस्त्राणि संवार्य द्रौणे: शारद्वतस्य च । मन्दवेगानिषूंस्ताभ्यामजिघांसुरवासृजत्‌,उन्होंने अपने अस्त्रोंद्वारा अश्वत्थामा तथा कृपाचार्यके अस्त्रोंका निवारण करके उनका वध करनेकी इच्छा न रखते हुए उनके ऊपर मन्द वेगवाले बाण चलाये

Transliteration

astrair astrāṇi saṃvārya drauṇeḥ śāradvatasya ca | mandavegāniṣūṃs tābhyām ajighāṃsur avāsṛjat ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Having countered the missiles of Aśvatthāmā (the son of Droṇa) and of Śāradvata Kṛpa with his own weapons, he—without wishing to kill them—released against the two arrows of restrained force, signaling deliberate self-control amid the fury of battle.
