अलंबलवधः (Alaṃbala-vadhaḥ) / The Slaying of Alaṃbala and the Advance toward Karṇa

āruroha śineḥ pautro jvalanādityasaṃnibham | bhagavān śrīkṛṣṇasyānumatiṃ prāpya śinipautraḥ sātyakiḥ dārukadvārā yojite agni-sūrya-samaṃ tejasvi rathaṃ samāruroha |

Sañjaya said: With the permission of the Blessed Śrī Kṛṣṇa, Sātyaki—the grandson of Śini—mounted that chariot, yoked by Dāruka, which blazed with the splendor of fire and the sun. The moment underscores disciplined action in war: even a mighty warrior proceeds under rightful authorization and orderly command rather than mere impulse.

Educational Q&A

Even in the urgency of battle, righteous conduct emphasizes discipline and proper authorization: Sātyaki acts with Kṛṣṇa’s consent, reflecting alignment with legitimate leadership and dharmic order rather than uncontrolled aggression.

Sañjaya reports that Sātyaki, identified as Śini’s grandson, mounts a brilliantly radiant chariot—likened to fire and the sun—after receiving Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s permission; the chariot is harnessed by Dāruka.
