पितामहपुरोगाश्च देवा: सिद्धाश्न त॑ं विदु:

pitāmahapurogāś ca devāḥ siddhāś na taṁ viduḥ

Sañjaya said: Even the gods and the perfected sages—led by the Grandsire—did not truly comprehend him.
