अध्याय १४८ — कर्णप्रभावः, धृष्टद्युम्नस्य विरथता, तथा घटोत्कच-आह्वानम्

Chapter 148: Karṇa’s Pressure, Dhṛṣṭadyumna Unhorsed, and the Summoning of Ghaṭotkaca

एवं तव बल राजन द्रावयित्वा धनंजय: । न्यवधीत्‌ सायकैघोरै: सिन्धुराजस्य रक्षिण:,राजन! इस प्रकार अर्जुनने आपकी सेनाको भगाकर भयंकर बाणोंद्वारा सिंधुराजके रक्षकोंको मारना आरम्भ किया

evaṁ tava balaṁ rājan drāvayitvā dhanañjayaḥ | nyavadhīt sāyakair ghoraiḥ sindhurājasya rakṣiṇaḥ ||

Sañjaya said: “O King, having routed your forces, Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) then began to cut down, with dreadful arrows, the guards protecting the King of Sindhu. In the grim logic of battle, Arjuna’s action is presented as a decisive, duty-bound strike against those who stand as the immediate shield of his foe.”
