Chapter 148: Karṇa’s Pressure, Dhṛṣṭadyumna Unhorsed, and the Summoning of Ghaṭotkaca
sañjaya uvāca | yogī yogena saṃyukto yoginām īśvaro hariḥ | etac chrutvā arjuno bhagavantaṃ śrīkṛṣṇam uvāca—“prabho! evaṃ bhavatu” iti | tataḥ sa yogī yogayukto yogīśvaro bhagavān śrīkṛṣṇaḥ sūryaṃ chādayituṃ andhakārasya sṛṣṭim akarot |
Sanjaya said: Hari, the supreme Lord of yogins—himself a yogin, united with Yoga—hearing this, Arjuna said to Lord Krishna, “Master, let it be so.” Then that yogin, the Yoga-endowed Lord Krishna, brought forth a veil of darkness to conceal the sun. In the moral atmosphere of the war, this act underscores Krishna’s sovereign mastery over nature in service of a vowed purpose and the protection of his devotee’s resolve, while also intensifying the ethical tension between strategy and straightforward combat.
