Sañjaya said: O King, Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) moved swiftly, a sight fit to behold. Driven by the resolve to slay Jayadratha, Arjuna seemed to bewilder the great chariot-warriors with volleys of sharp arrows and pass beyond them. With Śrī Kṛṣṇa as his charioteer, he ranged at once across the field, showering arrows in every direction as he sped with his chariot. In that moment, his splendor was truly something to be seen—an image of focused purpose amid the chaos of war.

Educational Q&A

Single-pointed resolve (niścaya) guided by right counsel is portrayed as a force that cuts through confusion: Arjuna’s focused aim—supported by Kṛṣṇa’s charioteership—shows how disciplined purpose and guidance can steady action even amid moral and physical turmoil.

Sañjaya describes Arjuna rapidly maneuvering his chariot across the battlefield, showering arrows in all directions. Intent on killing Jayadratha, he seems to bewilder and outpace the elite warriors who try to block him, while Kṛṣṇa drives his chariot.
