Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s advance toward Droṇa and the Sātyaki–Karṇa confrontation

Sañjaya said: “This is not an offence of the Vārṣṇeya (Sātyaki); it had to happen just so. Therefore do not give place to resentment, for anger is a deeper source of suffering for human beings.”

Educational Q&A

Do not cling to resentment when events are driven by inevitability; anger only multiplies suffering and clouds judgment, especially in crisis.

In the war-reporting frame, Sañjaya conveys a counsel addressed to the warriors: Sātyaki should not be blamed for what occurred; it was fated/inevitable, so they should restrain anger.
