Sañjaya said: The armies did not rejoice at that deed of Sātyaki—because he slew Bhūriśravas, the foremost of the Kurus, who had already been struck down earlier by Arjuna. In the moral atmosphere of the battle, this act was seen not as a clean victory but as a troubling killing of one already disabled, and thus it drew no acclaim from the soldiers.

Even in war, actions are judged by standards of fairness and dharma; killing an already disabled opponent is morally suspect, so it may bring victory without honor and fail to earn communal approval.
Sañjaya reports that the troops did not celebrate Sātyaki’s killing of Bhūriśravas, because Bhūriśravas had already been brought down earlier by Arjuna; the soldiers viewed Sātyaki’s act as ethically troubling rather than praiseworthy.
